Can anyone help me I have a omega 2.2 diesel (52 plate) which runs perfectly well, but if it is left unused for a couple of days it wont start. the garage have told me air is getting into the system and the fuel is running back to the tank leaving an air lock. They say I need a new oil pump which is where the seal is and it will cost about £1300 to fix. I could try an anti syphon valve on the fuel feed can anyone advise please?

I would try with the bleed off pipes and T pieces and new fuel filter seal first they are cheap and easy to do. If that doesn't help it could be the injector seals which is not a bad job just a bit more involved. I have read that you can fit a one way valve/manual pump to the fuel feed as close a possible to the injector pump but thats not sorting out the original problem. You can get your pump repaired and prices vary or you can get second hand with a 30 G/Tee for about £200.

The garage is right about air getting into the system, but probably not about the cause. Much more likely to be the injector seals. I did mine a bit ago after identical symptoms to yours, and the starting problem is now cured. Check this out for a how-to:
