Facelift parts onto prefacelift?
« on: 21 August 2009, 22:32:10 »

Just a quick question. Do the doors from a facelift fit prefacelift? and what about back bumper too?

I think doors are ok, but doubt if rear bumper is a straight swap. Having said that, nothing is impossible. May fit with a little modification.

The rear bumper will fit but when you source a facelift bumper make sure you also get the polystyrene part and the bumper bracket :y.

And the door cards are different as well I think, so the doors could need some work, no doubt someone else will tell you for sure

Was wondering about doorcards, whether it was possible to go with the facelift ones (not sure if the dash in the f/l and pre f/l are the same shape)

If you do, you'll have to re-wirre your leccy windows, older cars have the switches on the centre console, later face lift cars have their switches on the doors, driver's having all 4  :y

I would use facelift door cards, but blank off the switches, use the original ones.

That's where we're all different. I'd use the old cards, IMHO they're a lot nicer looking, and they're not painted with the rubber paint that scrapes off.  ;)  ;)  ;)  :y

Agreed Andy :y

IMHO Prefacelift looks a lot better than facelift all round. Only my opinion though :y

I like the look of the FL ones, but they are badly made and rattle about a bit, my old pre face lift Elite seems to have a better ride, and nowhere near as many rattles as my facelift
