abandoned omega help

hello i am in the forces and i have stumbled across an abandoned omega near my flat, the police a willing to tow it away and scrap it but i would like to step in and take it on, problem is i have no keys and no docs etc? what can i do?

Apply to the DVLA for a new V5C, they'll contact the current registered keeper. If they get no reply within 7 days, they'll send you a new V5.

 Note that registered keeper isn't necessarily the legal owner, so if they came back and want their car back... as for getting keys I think you'll struggle unless the car pass is in the car...
