Cutting out
« on: 03 September 2009, 00:39:56 »

Hello,my MV6 (2001 2.6)has just developed a fault and I was wondering if anone has come across it.When the car has been run for a while then parked for about an hour, when starting I need to press the accelerator for it to run or it will just cut out,but when started will run ok.Also when idleing in traffic will sometimes cut out.Had it connected to computer but no codes are recorded.Any help would be appreciated.

Has the EML light flashed up at all, have you tried to paper clip any fault codes, post the results up.

by the way, your Aviatar Pic is far to big, covers more than the text.  :y

I would suspect crank sensor, but others with more expert knowledge may know better. :-/

........or idle control valve (if the 2.6 has one?)
