suspension noise

hi i have a knocking sound on the front suspension occasionally also tyres get cut out on the outside edges after 3500-4000 miles, does anyone know what the problem is any help would be much appreciated ! cheers

Hi and welcome. Knocking is most likely one of the drop links on the front end, 2 nuts and about £8 to buy. Inside edge wear is normally wishbone bushes from advice on the forum. Easyer to change the whole wishbone and not too expensive, I paid about £55 for the pair. There is a guide in the maint section for both jobs.

Hmmm, worn bushes usually cause wear on the inside of tyres, if the outside is wearing, either your tracking or camber is out. Best check for wear anyway, & if you change wishbones and/or droplinks, have wheel alignment checked asap.
