7J x 15 , is original tyre Size 195/50 R15 its an old tyre size, dont think they use that sizing any more, there are (H) wich is road speed (130mph) and other letter heads  think 7J's are classic tyres. :y

The '7' is the width of the wheel rim in inches. The 'J' refers to the shape of the rim, and indicates the physical shape of the wheel where the tyre bead meets it.

It doesn't mean it's like a letter J in shape - it's just a code. There are lots of other codes in use, but 'J' is the most common profile identifier.

Widest tyre fitted as standard on 7j wheels is 225/55/16

MV6 and later elites with the 235/45/17 tyres used a 17 x 7.5j wheel

Like was said - Specifically Dave G - 7J relates to the size of the wheel itself. 225 reltaes to the size of the tyre ....   :-?
