More Problems!!!
« on: 19 October 2009, 16:10:00 »

Hi all Ive just replaced the oil cooler on my 2.5 v6. She appears to be running sweetly again despite some oil deposits still in water bottle. Have flushed it through lots of times it comes out clear at the rad drain tap just seems to collect in the bottle. It no longer seems to overheat even when left idling for 30 mins and fast idle for 10 1500 rpm. I cant take it for drive yet as mot expired in June. its been sitting all that time. The newest problem Ive noticed is the rev counter and fuel gauge both stop working intermittantly for a second or so and then work properly again. Have I disturbed something while doing work or is this unconnected. No pun intended.

Just remove header bottle and flush out with detergent and hot water. Rinse out well with cold.  Repeat a few times and you will find it will clear and stay clear.  :y

Its just coincidence, there is a scart socket looking connector behind the dash that the male  on the clocks lines up with, or doesnt very well, as with my old 2.5. If it persists there is a guide on dash/clocks removal, once removed you'll see the marks on the tape circuit board, sometimes they are a fraction off, or it just needs re seating with the screws tightened up while you press it firmly home. Nout to do with oil cooler work. :-)
