management light
« on: 07 October 2009, 23:21:49 »

right here goes  >:(   i have a 2.5td (bmw one) 1999 model.. when i start it it runs really smooth untill it heats up and then it runs a bit eratic only on tick over though it drives smooth and no power loss ... when i am accelerating its fine but if i take my foot off the throttle to slow down or change gear sometimes the management light flickers and it cuts out for a split second its very annoying ..... does anyone have any ideas what it could be please .. thanks

Some of the 2.5 tractors can be paperclipped for codes. Have you tried http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1189022687 :)

very very common!!! first off do the diesel magic trick this often cures it, bad news is if a code does come up its usually the dreaded 64!!! edit have often wondered oif increasing the tickover by tech2 will cure this, as its only tickover where it seems to affect it?

Page not found Andy :(

Basically get a tin of dieselmagic (available at most good motor factors) and fill your fuel filter with it. Start it up and take it up the bypass for an Italian tune-up ;) :y

A new pump will set you back about £1200 plus fitting! You need to get the part numbers off your pump and try and find a breaker with the correct type of pump.
