Yellow tinge on head light
« on: 11 November 2009, 18:37:38 »

Does anyone have any tips for gettin rid of the yellow tinge that has appeared on the headlamp unit. I read a post a few months ago which gave some ideas for cleaning it but cant seem to find it.
Cheers

If the lense is looking a bit yellowy get some t-cut on it, and give it a good going over. That ought to cure it and make it look almost new again.

Polished mine last weekend for MOT on Monday ( passed no advisories  :D  ) as I knew they were fairly milky and not bright.

Used Greygate Plastic Polish and elbow grease for 20 mins, worked a treat on the tiny surface scratches. Search on SleazeBay for it.   ;)

I also used to T-Cut and a bit of elbow effort for 15 minutes polishing. Headlight lenses now lovely and clear - I can now see where I am driving at night :-) e

there is some cleaners that will remove it for about 5 year in sun light, T-cut is ok but after a time it will crack the plastic in a haze patern doto its cemicels, plastic cleaner is better the stuff you get for cleaning caravans, removes the yellow and the green and dont damage the plastic. :y
