Sounds like your key has lost its code and the indicators flashing in my eyes would be as you have opened your car manually it hasnt senced the code so it has set your alarm off. but once you have started the car has senced the chip in the key and turned the alarm off.

ps if so then you need to check your alarm siren as it may not be working

Try re-syncing the fob.

Key in the ignition and turned so the ignition lights are lit and then press adn hold one of the remote buttons.

Hazard lights flashing until you turn on the ignition is the alarm going off - silently! So another job will be to check the power sounder and alarm horn under the scuttle. I suspect both have failed or been disconnected.

.. Or just bear in mind that you don't have a serviceable alarm.
