« on: 03 December 2009, 13:56:29 »

As above failed after about 200 miles, no oil in plug seats, Any ideas what would cause this?

Update, Mig 3.0 V6

Brand new VX item ???  Faulty manufacturer item .. get replaced under warranty

2nd hand/ scrappy item ??  Previous history unknown .. might have been used for a while in a car with all sorts of problems....  especially leaking cam covers

It was a known (to be good)replacement off another 3.0, could be it just failed, didn't want to put another on without explorering the options, if that makes sense.

Missing, sounds like one of the pots, was fine with the replaced Pack, now same fault. Probably do the whole lot again this weekend (plugs, leads, pack), was just trying to get some ideas in case it could be something else.  :y

might be worth having a good luck at the 4 pins crimps in the Lt plug  :y

coil pack is basiclly 3 coils in one unit.
4 pins ........... 1 to each coil and a negative the trigger it or is it the other way round  :-/
if one of the pins has a bad conection then it will cause one of the coils too play up making the engine miss  :y

How old are the plugs ?...start with the cheapest first..which is what I should have done few weeks back as had similar fault.
Bought new dispack still had problems..replaced all plugs and problem solved, and less than £15=00,so good for another 40k.
