Heater - Vacuum Pipes
« on: 17 December 2009, 10:48:44 »

Just a quick question - my heater isn't working and with some help on here I suspect a vacuum fault. Can I take off a vacuum pipe to see if it works?? Also where is it??

Thanks

Remove vac pipe from top of HBV, hot water should then flow through matrix. Vac solenoid is behind glovebox

Will I know what that looks like when I get there?? You'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge on this one - never done anything with Omegas! :y

And if I take it off and it's a vacuum fault, will it work so I know this is the problem??

just done mine this week. is behind glove box screwed to heater box above lower air vent. two of them.small brown cylinderical  interchangeable. one operates hbv (black rubber pipes)other (black & blue stripe)operates recirculate flap. as stated no vacuum = heat. i tested for vac with a new hbv i fitted. back flushing the matrix is worthwhile as well. it sorted mine. i had ice on the inside of windscreen last week. blasting out red hot this week.
