LOCKED ECU
« on: 17 December 2009, 08:03:57 »

I recently tried to get my car uprated for more power & torque by having the ecu remapped. i went to a well known company (dont know if i can name them) in salisbury. they tried to remap but said they could not get into the ECU as it was locked. anyone out there had the same problem or any info. :(

Sounds like operator error or an excuse for 'we cant do it'

I have updated the firmware on the 2.2's a few times for people using T2 adn this includes the map file

Well I can tell you there is not option to lock it......and the police never used the 2.2's and none of the police spec cars had different maps installed.

Will the consumption go up if you remap the ECU?
What kind of increase of power and torque  are we talking about in 2.2 engines?

The consumption will most likely go up since this is a naturally aspirated petrol engine...
You might notice a gain in torque and hp at the mid range, but if this isnt something you get done really cheap i would have spent my money on something else...

Any significant improvement in torque / bhp / mpg?
