Throttle error :S
« on: 09 January 2010, 22:35:55 »

Hi  8-)

I've written about this problem before.
The throttle on my Omega began to fail when the winter came. But the cruisecontroll still works 100%. I did run a diagnose test and got the following codes:

p1515 pedal position sensor Voltage suply circuit low input
p1515 pedal position sensor Idle position switch error
p1515 pedal position sensorpotentiometer Error
p1515 pedal position sensorbrake shitch error
p1515 pedal position sensorgeneral errer
p1590 Engine running signal high input
p1590 Engine running signal low input

I where told to check the DBW connector and the multiway connector in the drivers sie A pilar. I did so, and they both seamed fine.

Now I'm wondering if I should try to buy a new Throttle potentiometer?  :-?

Sorry for bad english. I'm norwegian  :P

that sounds like it has gone, can test with multi meter on plug number 1 and 3 then 3 and 2, found that a bit of switch cleanner fix's them, put a lot in the hole where it fits in to the hole, shake the sensor with the cleaner in and then turn the switch by hand, leave to dry near some heat for hour or so then put back on some times it just gets mucky.

Hi =)

I've just used the switch cleaner and it seamed to work. Thanks ;)
