alarm problems

hi guys and girls i got a mv6 2.6 2001 plate and all is good except sometimes when i start the car the alarm goes off which means i have to get out lock and then unlock it to stop the alarm,also the dash light with the car and spanner comes on sometimes and it wont start so i have to take the key out and start again....your help would be greatfully received.............thanks..moose.

sounds like immobiliser fault, may need a checkup.

thanks i have unplugged the powersounder as suggested by some members and so far so good.

Hello and Welcome .. glad the unplugging of the powersounder appears to have helped  :y :y

If you stick details of the car and your location in your profile folks can help you better ...  :)

As you have an MV6 ..I'm going to guess it's the 2.5 version .. inwhich case you can "paperclip" it to read the codes linkwed to the EML light coming on.
