Electric Seat Issue
« on: 21 January 2010, 16:56:46 »

Hi

Hi I got an issue with the drivers electric seat not moving fully forward.

Seats in general work fine.

Passenger moves far enough forward as it should do BUT the drivers side stops way to short of where it should be.

I am guessing it must be a good 6 inches that its stopping short of where it should be.

What tool can I use to manualy wind seat forward as I dont have the tool which originally come with the tool kit?

I need this to move forward urgently as its not safe to be driving this the way I am.

Your kind replies would be gratefully appreciated.

OH by the way I have checked for coins etc but does not appear to be any there.

As said before, if the seat does move back & forward at all, it's highly likely there's an obstruction. My £1 coin was right at the back of the runner, transmission tunnel side runner of the seat. After I'd pigged about trying to move it to remove it, it disappeared from view butt obviously it still needed to come out. The tool has a square end on it to engage in the square hoke of the motor that you can see if you stick your head under the seat while trying to move the seat. If the motor won't move the seat, the tool won't either.  :y
