Hi, just done the hbv today ,i am having trouble in re fitting the skuttle, it just wont go back on, the smaller one over the pollen filter is no problem, but i cant get the other to sit flat, i have a big blob of black window sealer have way along which seams to be the trouble, but i am reluctant to cut it out as it was there in the first place,so is there for a reason!!!.
Any tips on how to get it back in up and under the strip.
There was me thinking that the hbv was going to be the problem, lol

use a bent screw driver to locate it has worked before.

Not sure what you mean ?
i cant get it to lay flat so the plugs can turn back in to hold it.
Is there a way to do it, ie, left or right side first?

Put large one in first - start from drivers side.  As said above use bent screwdriver to help feed top under rubber.

Can i ask if you put the wiper fixing mounts(wiper motor spindle?) in place first, then do the front edge under the rubber, i just cant get it to line up either way.Also have a big lump of black sealant of some sort,midway along the rubber, is that suppose to be there,the cover needs to go under it to lay flat which is a right pain in the !!!

Funny thing that - there is no lumps or bumps of any kind on mine. Put drivers side in first starting from the wing end and put the wiper spindle through its hole then slot the top edge under the screen rubber pushing up towards the screen as you work along it towards the passenger side. Bit of fairy liquid on the seal is magic aid too.
Done it loads of times and never had any probs.
Can you send a picture of this weird lumpy thing?

And to lay flat it has to properly engage with the metalwork at the inboard end of the pollen filter suround. Make sure you get a good seal around the wipers.

Managed to finish the skuttle today in the sunshine, thanks for the help all went well with only a few golden nuggets going into the swear box !!!
