engine management light

hi all i have just bought another 2.5 omega elite on a s plate everything was ok drove like a gem no knocks  bangs or engine management light on except for a misfire so i decided to change the spark plugs like i have done many times before  but for some reason  this time the engine management light has come on but the car runs fine discon nected battery cleared it for 1 mile i have checked all the leads and the plugs that you have to disconnect they all seem to be ok has any body got any ideas what i could have disloged broke or something and i carnt get the pedel test to work HELP PLEASE

Pedal trick won`t work on yours. Do the paperclip test :y

ok stupid question how do you do the paper clip test as i normally use my dionostic box but it wont connect to the car
