1998 omega v6 heater / cooling problems
« on: 18 February 2010, 17:56:10 »

hi all, after replacing the oil cooler (which left real nice ooze everywhere! lol) i am still having cooling issues, and no heater inside the car. top and bottom rad hoses are getting warm and top matrix hose is warm but not the bottom matrix hose. i have tried flushing it a couple of times but problem still there. the car seems to be holding temp on driving but when stationary rises to nearly 100. also takes quite a whle to warm up from cold.
thanks for help in advance!

Daft question some may think .....

BUT

When you did the "flushes" after the cooler change, did you run the engine to warm with the heater on MAX ???  If not it quite possible the matrix is still full of oily gunge .. :(

Might be worth doing some flushes with a low-sud biological detergent in the system, run until normal temp with heater on max. Allow to cool. Drain.

Repeat 4- 5 times .. :)

hi all, tried flushing again with climate control on HI and with biological detergent (non foaming) i seem to be getting a little heat inside now and it seems to be holding correct temo when stationary now. maybe its a case of keep flushing and persevere! thanks all for your help :)
