Passenger door help...PLEASE
« on: 20 February 2010, 13:09:11 »

I have just been cleaning the interior of the car. went to open front passwenger door and no luck
I have tried trying to force it but to no avail, is there another way this can be opened without the need of a Vauxhall dealer, I have tried locking & opening but nothing seems to work :( :( :(

I have had this problem myself in the past and I found that locking and unlocking does work sometimes and other times it has to be left overnight and tried again. I even found that once it had been driven round for a mile or two it jolts in enough for it to open.

Once unlocked make sure you remove the door card and give the entire mechanism a good spray with wd40 or something similar to free it up!

you can remove the door card with the door closed. remove all the screws that you can then pull the card very gentley to gain accsess to the gubbins. if its been taken off before they might not have put all the screws back this does help.

try just moving the lock up / down lots of times. can take 2 or 3   or even 20 . It happens to ours if the outsde handle has been lifted before it has been unlocked.

My drivers door does this some times, my fix is unlock so button on door is up then slap the outside of the door hard a few times just below the handle and it opens, worth a try.
