Who's the mechanic on here that covers the West Mid's area ?. As I could do with their assistance please.
Could do with some help as my gearbox has started to act up a little again, and throwing codes P1781 & P1792, and think that's it's the 2nd to 3rd selector solonid actting up isn't it ?.
So could do with finding out if I can get one of these solonids, or if it's unlikey and I'm in need of a recon gearbox

Gearbox doesn't change up as quick as it used to, and then does go into 3rd with a bit of a thud !. And once or twice the car with spanner light has come on.
It could do with the level checking, but seeing as I've owned the car for just over a year, I don't know when the gearbox level was topped up, so thought it would be a good idea to get the main filter changed for a new one (already on the case with jpat), and some fresh trans oil from Opie (already got 5L of that), as well.
Trouble is I have a disability, so doing the filter & oil change job isn't going to be easy on my own, and could do with someone coming over to my house to help me with it.
Anyone got any advise please, as to be honest I don't want to entrust it to a garage, and not be sure it's been done right or ripped off !!.
