hi all i have just saved a 2.2 petrol x plate cdx from going to the scrap yard due to a poorley water pump and the owner loosing both sets of  keys is it possible to get a new key from  vauxhall or somewhere as i dont have any key code numbers and i want to put it back  on the  road as its to nice to break

guessing the manual with carpass is in the car? Even so still need a spare key to copy the blade.

Might have to smash your way in and fit new ignition barrel and door lock

I would think that fi you furnish VX with the identity details of the car plus proof of ownership and personal I.D they will be able to provide you with a new key. However be prepared to be bent over and rodgered from behind when it comes to the bill . Worth giving them a call to see I know other dealerships can replace lost keys from the records they hold. cheers guys i give them a ring in the morn i forgot to mention that the car is unlocked would there  be any code  numbers on  the ignition barrel

I would think that just the chassis number would suffice

Vauxhall/Opel generally put the key code on or near the boot lock .... but don't know about facelift cars when they don't have one  :-/

thank you for the replys vauxhall want 200 quid for a non remote key then another 50 quid to progran the key to the car and 25 quid for  there time to find the key number plus vat and if i want a remote key its an extra 60quid and i have to take the car to them at first i thought i heard the massage wrong but i didnt

I had two sets of keys with my "new" vehicle but the driver's side lock servo (the one and only) didn't work, and it had jammed open.

I took the car to my local Vx workshop and they billed me 47 pounds just to have it in their shop plus 150 for the repairs.  The car was in there for a week, as they couldn't find a new lock, so i collected the car and waited for them to order a new lock from Germany, to be fair they then let me off the 47 pounds fee.

A couple of weeks later they called me, part arrived, and duly fitted - perfect!   I called to find out the bill and they said 147 pounds incl. VAT.

Arrived to collect the car and they wanted 247 pounds...i stuck to my guns and politely argued them down to 204, then 147 pounds as that's all i'd brought, cash only i don't have credit cards, and the time was getting on to closing and busy with other customers waiting

happily paid and got out there fast in case they thought of something else to charge me for

ring seward vauxhall in bournemouth, much cheaper than that when i needed a key about £125 all in i think from memory.

You'd need the alarm ECU too, cos that'll be looking at the chip in your key.
