Auxiliary water pump
« on: 09 March 2010, 16:46:12 »

Is the auxiliary water pump (behind rad/nearside) controlled by the fan switch on the rad? As mine is running constantly (even when cold) and I'm wondering if the switch is stuck? I'm putting a new rad in soon and wondering if its worth putting a new switch in at the same time?  :-/

It should only run when the fans are running and the engine is not running.

If the fans are behaving normally I would suspect the relay that drives it. (Can't remember which one off the top of my head).

Thanks Kevin, actually it was a daft question because if it was the fan switch then the fan would be running constantly as well....... and its not!! Doh!! :-[ :-[ :-[

I think there's a guide here somewhere about relays.

Thanks again :y
