I've just called them. They have Delphi branded in stock at £45 each, but can order Lemforder at £62 each.

Is it worth paying the extra for Lemforder or are Delphi ok?

aw now then, was it Delphi somebody reported failed stearing knuckles?
also concider the other associated costs with wishbones if they fail, refitting another set, another geomotry set up, and possible tyre damage.

I've ordered the Lemforders anyway now. Hopefully have them tomorrow and then on to WIM at some point next weekend

i used delphi before lasted 8 months bushes went
replaced with the better quality ones and no probs 12 months later still firm

I would be very interested if the manufactures name is 'stamped' on the product, the best producers do.
Without that ID it is very difficult to spot the difference.
Unless someone can tell !!!!

indeed, wouldnt mind betting the cheaper £50 a pair wishbones are all made at the same dodgy factory in the far east somewhere, although some are quite happy with theirs it seems very difficult to tell the good from the bad in that price range.... :-/

My mate fitted the Delphi ones and the ball joints both failed within 6 months. he is not a fast or careless driver either. Perhaps the pothoiles this country is riddled with had some effect.
Personally I would not buy them and have only ever fitted genuine VX even though they are expensive. My car has 165K on it and I have only changed them once up to now! Says it all I think......... cos it passed the test again in Feb!

just to add, in case anyone isnt aware, its vitally important to follow the correct torquing procedure when tightening the wishbone bolts. Wheels loaded car on the ground.

Yep. I wouldn't mind betting incorrect fitting is behind some of the early failures.

I got some from vauxspares for about £60 a pair and they are still fine 18 months later. Best bet is to get some cheapies and swap them, then get in some of the decent bushes and press into your orig. wishbones as spares.

I was interested to know if the parts had any Lemforder stamping on them? I am considering ordering them and wondered also if you have a part number for them?

IF wishbones are fitted correct ie tourqed up at ride height,weight on they do last longer, we have noticed a steady increase in wishbone failures on lots of cars since the advent of more speedbumbs and now potholes. conspericey throery maybe.

Know what you mean .. three concurrent threads on wishbones ... gets difficult to follow !!
