help? auto omega feels lk clutch is on way out!!

help i'm driving a late omega 2.5td auto, drives perfect in reverse, but doesn't drive forward that well, 1st just revs out no movement, 2nd revs out no movement, 3rd it moves a bit but when you hit the snow button, it takes off a bit better, well it actually drives a bit better, but only reaches bout 70 and the revs be's up around 5000rpm?? does anyone know wats wrong, need my car badly for work!!

Check atf fluid level first and top up as required. ;)

As Dbug says, sounds like your ATF is low. Where abouts are you Greg?

Also check the colour of the ATF. It should be red. If it's brown you need to change it.

where bouts do u take it out/ put in, bout 5ltrs of dexron III there now, have the car jacked up but can't see no bungs

Have you had this car long?,what i am trying to get at is did these symptoms suddenly appear?,atf fluid change may help but more likely the autobox is beyond repair. How many miles has it done and has it towed?

Ijust read your other thread saying you got the car yesterday,you are clutching at straws thinking the oil change might get the box going,colour of the fluid suggests the car was driven to its death.

136 thou, don't know, your man said it was lying up and when he first got it, it would only move in reverse, have a new filter ordered, it will be here on monday. don't think the correct oil was added?? but the torqueconverter was also mentioned but it was not by someone who works on these vehicles
