reprogramming the key for rcl???

tried doing it like the other vauxhalls, open the drivers door, put the key in the ignition, turn it off and on bout twelve times and hit any button on the remote but this didn't work, could it be cos i changed it for a astra one??

You need a 'new' key fob programmed with a TechII. If it's just lost synchronisation cos you've taken a while replacing a battery, you turn the ignition on, press a button, car locks then unlocks & you've resync'd your key. But you can't just use A N Other fob with use of a TechII  ;)

the key fob, the buttons are completely mangled, opened it up the now and the lock and boot openin switch are completely detached from the pcb inside

PM Martin Imber here .. he fixes/repairs key fobs and is brilliant at it ...!!

Done several for me and never a problem  :y :y :y

Sent both my Omega keys to Martin over the passed month, briliant sevice, "send to receive 3 days".
Both had intermittent 'central locking' problems, all sorted.
