« on: 15 April 2010, 22:11:03 »

Or wait until I've done 1k miles, and time for recalibration?

some gas installers here recommend 1000 kms for recalibration..but on the friends car (BRC kit) nothing was necessary..

LPG ECU firmware? The version I put on was only a couple of weeks old. Has it been superseded?

I would say wait until you recalibrate, as it will probably nuke the map anyway.

Seems I'm a couple of versions out of date, downloaded latest software a couple of days back (thought after running out of gas the other day, I ought to make some effort to get the tank gauage a little more accurate ;D).  Going, as an initial guess, at 60 miles for each LED, based on fact I got 270 miles from last tank. That should give me enough warning when it hits red...

It's odd that the gauge is so far out. I wonder if the tank angle needs a tweak? It should take closer to 65 litres and, in miss daisy mode, I'd expect closer to 300 miles. :-/

Not sure how well the latest software will talk to older firmware. Might be best to update it. I should have downloaded the latest when we fitted it. :-[

Reckon it does need a rotate slightly. but was going to put a couple of tanks through it first, just to be sure.

At LD's, I put in 61l, but that was from an empty, fresh system. When I (presumably) ran out the other day (4 x 3 beeps, and B/G light flashing quickly), I got 59l in.

Apart from a couple of spirts when you were calibrating, its not been floored, or above 3k rpm, so I was expecting better than 270m range  :-/.

My calcs put that 270m at 20mpg (driven like Miss Daisy, including a decent run back along A14/A45/A43 at a constant 70-80mph), and 12.9p per mile at 58.9p per litre.

Journey to Suffolk (a busy M1/M25/A12 route) returned 27mpg (@ 116.9p per litre, 20p per mile)

i got 68L in mine when it was brand spankers, got about the same in after it beeping at me, i found after it beeps you can get another 10-15 miles out of it if you turn it off and back on again, i know when its really out, because as soon as you turn it on it beeps.

I was constantly getting 340-350 miles on 68L of fuel

Worth checking it over a few tanks. I find it's nowhere near as consistent as petrol, in that what you've just put in doesn't necessarily match the tankful you've just burnt IYSWIM.

However, 13p a mile is about on the money.

Yes, on a gentle run I'd probably expect a couple of MPG more but, on the other hand, my multirams are working. ;)

My initial tankful was just over 64l and subsequent fillups after the system has cut to petrol have been to that level (often 3 or 4 litres higher). My first fill was on a hot day, though, and the pump-indicated volume is temperature compensated.

ran lpg for years on the sennys and carlton gsi 24v,(and many enjoyable trackdays on it) and have to tell you that every lpg station is different pressure wise, i.e. some will put more gas in than ohers!! what i did was find where i could get the most in locally and just stuck to that one!!
at the time it was famly farm services on the a34, but guessing it would be a different place now, always found that new lpg stations had a slightly hgher pressure presumably because the equipment was new!! :y
also add that when i put me first lpg kit on the price was 28ppl :y beofre i changed to diesel omega the last time i filled up with gas price ahd gone up to 48ppl, :(
