V6 Vectra
« on: 30 December 2007, 21:56:03 »

Ive got a mate that has just been on the phone saying he has a problem with his Vectras brakes. He says that when the engine is off and he pumps the brake pedal he can get good pressure but as soon as he starts the engine the pedal hits the floor and he's got no brakes. oh yeah hes just replaced the ABS unit. So any ideas. :y

Could be air bubbles trapped in the ABS modulator, requires pressure bleeding while 'excercising' the ABS Modulator with Tech2.

aye be worth bleeding the system through...

When you say replaced brakes, do you mean just discs & pads? or calipers, etc...

Just also sounds like what happens when the valve pops out in the servo if you push back too hard on the pistons in the calipers...

IF its hitting the floor it has air in the system somewhere......and a favourite is the ABS unit.

Hence why when they go (the later vectra uses the same unit as the Omega) its best just to change the ECU...
