Did you just squeeze the pistons in or did you do the sensible thing and open the bled nipple?

Ahhhhh well I didn't know about the bleed nipple trick untill after I had used a king big screw driver to ease the pistons back . I will enquire about getting the fluid changed after I have done the rear disks and pads .

I would be having a look at the rear pads/calipers first.
I was complaining about spongy brakes until it was pointed out to me about checking the rears first.
It turned out the rear pads had seized in and were just not working, hence they had a spongy feeling.

All sorted now and passed MOT last week :y.

pads and discs still need bedding in a bit and can feel spongy with low performance especially if the grease coating has not beeen wiped off..
customers cars with new brakes are always driven round the block to "warm them up" and bed them in.
if your confident this isnt the case then other options as mentioned need to be looked at.

I gave the disks a good clean with brake cleaner but didn't think about pads
