Rear subframe bushes supplier.
« on: 16 May 2010, 11:44:20 »

About to replace the rear donut bushes but may as well do the rear subframe bushes at the same time so thought I'd ask if they are Main Dealer supply only or is there an alternative source ?

Incidently these have went up in price ,

Nope , the ones listed are for the front of the rear trailing arms  , the ones I ask about are the rear mounts above and behind the diff.

i'd do the donuts first and see how it drives.

The diff bushes are not known as a common failure afaik. Dont know of another source other than dealer personally. If you find a source let us know though. :y

What are the symptoms of rear donut bushes failing?
I think I might have this problem but want to be sure first.

The reason I'm changing the donuts is to eliminate a squeak or groan like noise that comes from the rear .
The noise is very light and almost inaudible when driving but more noticable when turning onto a ramp or sharp incline .
More annoying than anything else really.
I've just put new quality shocks on the rear and that made a huge difference so thought i'd change out the rear bushes at the same time as the donuts.

Put new donut bushes on the estate due to them being past there best, has helped a little but will be replacing the shock absorbers at some point as well.

There was also an occasional groaning noise as well but that was down to the rubber tailgate stops becoming compressed with age, I wound them out a little and all seems fine now.

mine creaks even with new bushes, i'll spray some silicon on the door rubbers one day as i think the chassis flex over undulations makes the doors creak...maybe?

Could give AutoVaux a try as an alternative to main dealer. They claim to source OE parts but best to check by phoning first. Definately cheaper but you would need to check that requested part is indeed OE.
