EXACTLY the same problem I had..Now sorted. !

Cam Gaskets !  You don't think so, you can't see it BUT am sure yours is the same problem.

Perhaps the new ones are leaking. Are they genuine GM parts. ONLY GM gaskets should be used. Aftermarkets fail at great frequancy.
Did you have them done recently, or were they said to have been done by a previous owner.

Hot oil sneaks EVERYWHERE and in these cases it appears to come from the front of the gaskets, right down under and on to the plate.

Suspect, if you start fumbling around with yer fingers, when she's cold, unlike I did, OOOUUCH! you'll notice a few small tell tale signs. Feel around the gaskets as best you can and take a look at the alternater and such...suspect they'll be oily also.

duggs you may have a point the mechanic who does my servicing admits to not knowing too much about the v6 but im stuck so even  tho he admits it hes not a bad bloke i got the gaskets myself but im 70 + now so these jobs are behond me but when he changed the covers 2 of the screws sheared i said whattttt at 8 nm he said yes " i had to borow a low torque wrench " so i was not filled with two much confidence after he had done them there was no oil for about 2 or 3 days the first long run i did to manchester on arrival home the oil was back grrrrr looks like DLK will have to be contacted or MDTM but mark never replied
so ill have to rethink no one around here knows the v6 a local mech who i know said he could do it but said he can fit cam belts on v6 without locking kit so that didnt give me much confidence
thanks anyway

Were they genuine GM parts ?

That said, even the aftermarkets should last a month or so...

Looks like they are leaking for some reason. Have you any come back on the original mechanic ?

If he snapped the bolts he may have cracked the plastic cam covers.

Finaly the oil leak as been cured by DLK after systamatically going through the possible sites that it could and taking of the various Plenum and assosiated items in a totaly proffesional way he came to the conclusion it was the oil pressure switch that i doggedly said it wasnt so hats of to you daz im in awe of your expertise you even found a torx socket in there(god knows wat would have happened whoever dropped it ad let it go in to the intake) i did have the oil pressure housing helicoiled as threads were stripped initialy maybe the bloke who did it didnt get it square with the face were the washer fits. Daz you are a gentleman i cant praise you enough any one who needs a job doing on their Omega wont go far wrong with you. You a very knowledgable man and also very friendly Thanks once again Daz and all the best to you. I can confidently say that any future work will be entrusted in your capable hands
