you use to be able to buy what was called a full engine gasket set this had all the seals and gaskets that you needed for a full rebild dont know if they still do them, last one i bought was for a 24v carlton.

the kits that exist are good for some parts, but not others like the cam cover gaskets, which you should get original for.

Trecchi on ebay do good head gaskets and bolts for a good price

a lot of the other rubber orings / gaskets are fine to reuse.

manifold gaskets - make sure they are multilayer metal ones.

As Jimbob says above :y

I would replace the cam belt kit, it would be a shame to do all that work to ruin it for the price of a complete kit ;)

the engine shop doing the regrind work would normally supply the big end and mains at the suitable size depending on how much they have to take off.
worth asking about all the other stuff at the same time. ;)

Agreed. Probably worth getting them to supply the stuff. Then if the clearance ends up wrong there's only one party to blame. They can often find the bits for good prices too IME.

While you're at it I would consider going the whole hog and honing the bores and replacing the rings, and also lap the valves into their seats. You'll have an "as new" engine then.

It will end up an expensive and time consuming exercise compared with a second hand engine, but at least you'll know it's sound before you fit it.

but is an 'as new' engine worth the expence on a 10 yr ???? old car? I'd be inlcined to put a second hand engine in.  ;)

I doubt the little ends will be needing replacing after such an issue as they dont have a direct oil feed and rely more on oil mist and splash for lube.
