Torque converters...
« on: 29 May 2010, 21:44:15 »

Hello chaps (and chappettes!)

Been a while since one of my random questions!

Will the tourque converter from a 3.2 mv6 fit a 2.5td?

Failing that is there a manual conversion for a 2.5td kicking about somewhere?

Cheers, George  :)

No. Torque converters are closely matched to the engine power delivery so I suspect the 2.5 TD one will be very different.

the 2.5 TD t/c is only held by 3 bolts onto the ring gear, also the short shaft that goes into the end of the crank has a different o/d size.

I shall find a td one then :)

Any way of ridding the 'pick up slack' when you first pull away, or should all this help anyway?
