Water leak back of engine
« on: 11 June 2010, 09:07:49 »

I have a water leak, been slow for ages, now a litre a day.

Does anyone have a coolant bottle top with air valve as I need to pressurise the system to find it?

Current status, last year, head gaskets and HBV.

Thanks

If its NOT the HBV can you see where the water is flowing too. Where the water lies could indicate as to where its coming from.

IF you're not sure and as posted, you KNOW its coming from the back it may be the same problem I once had.

Namely:  Way further down, below the HBV, I had a very small split in a £2.00 piece of hose. I left it...right up to the point where the water spraying over the back of the engine, killed the dis pack and leads.

That £2.00 piece of hose cost me over £300.00 as a result.  Its an ar$e to see/find .

More LPG plumbing issues? Did you replace both T pieces when the first one failed? If not, the second one might have gone the same way?

Oil cooler joints is my guess. I had this problem also and it was suspected as HBV as the route of the leaking water was similar. However, it turned out to be a busted thread in one of the cooler joints (which made me wonder where and when this was broken because the cooler was original....)
