Help!! Irratic idling still - near Dewsbury
« on: 25 June 2010, 20:48:14 »

Thanks for looking and all the great info and help on here!!!

Have a 2.0 99' which suffers from irratic idling and stalling problems - so checked on here and removed/cleaned ICV and throttle as well as check pipes. Also also checked HT leads at spark plugs and full of oil and so guess needs new cam cover gasket.

Also did paperclip test and came up with codes 0100 and 0130 - MAF has been changed for 2nd hand one off ebay - if disconnected engine still runs and idling doesn't change with old or newer MAF - unless its duff!

I'm no mechanic and with times being hard can't afford a trip to the garage.

Is there anything else I have missed? Is there anyone local who could help for a few beers

Remove the flexi pipe from the maf to the throttle body and check it closely for splits.

Also make sure all the breather connections to the throttle body are properly refitted  :y
