Clips on breather hose at back of plenum
« on: 08 August 2010, 21:51:02 »

Hello all, I'll be attempting my cam cover gaskets tomorrow night using the guide off here. Just had a quick look and the clips on the breather hose at rear of plenum don't look like circlips or jubilee clips. How am I meant to get these off without breaking them? Or do I need to break them and renew them? Thanks!

You can get a set of pliers which will undo them but usual practice is to lever them open with a small driver and replace with small cable ties.

Personally I wouldn't bother putting them back. Both my Omegas have had them missing, pipes sit tight enough to leave them off.

Clips removed from mine also. Nice tight fit without them  :y

I just did mine at the weekend and two of the four were slightly split - but this wasn't evident until I took them off.

I few turns of electrical insulating tape then a couple of tie-wraps solved the problem.
