LPG and plug leads
« on: 25 August 2010, 10:48:54 »

I have a low down misfire, in the revs I mean. When I just touch the throttle it wants to die rather than accelerate. Feels similar to when I had a split lead. No problems at higher speeds.
Do I recall reading that LPG shortens the life of plugs and leads.
Can anyone confirm the misfire symptoms and the lpg fact?

LPG doesn't shorten plug or lead life per se, it's just that LPG mixture is harder to ignite under certain circumstances, so if either is not 100%, then a misfire will result.

Run it on petrol and see if it's the same... If it's fine on petrol it is probably an HT issue ;)

But could equally be a supply issue ;)

It is exactly the same on petrol, maybe just slightly worse on gas.

Hmm.... Have you read the fault codes? I suspect there may be a Crank Sensor code if anything.

If no codes it's likely to be HT related :y
