8000 members will give 8000 different results.

Maybe a quick search will reveal past discussions, though no clear winners ;D

What size wheels?

Got 235/45R17 tyres on mine and all the tyres I have tried so far have been too noisy (but I suspect that any tyre with a 45% profile will be loud).

Grip levels are noticeably greater than my last Omega (16" rims, can't remember the tyre size).

At the moment I have 'Event' tyres (no I've never heard of them before either). 4 tyres fitted and balanced (+ disposal tax) for £240. I had two fitted in a hurry a few months ago with the intention of changing them very quickly but they are surprisingly good so I went back and got another pair fitted last month. :)

Pilot Primacy is another option on the Omega, not quite as sporty as the Pilot Sport but should last a bit longer!

Never been to happy with michelins in recent years.
Would prefer Continetal or Goodyear, Dunlop received good praises on the mig but was supposedly quite noisy
