looking at buying a 2.2 sport
« on: 28 August 2010, 21:23:57 »

Hi guys after a short stint in a volvo(not my choice i might hasten to add) i have had enough and want to go back to a vauxhall,i have found a 2.2 auto sport on a 51 reg with 107,000 on the clock with vauxhall service history up untill 96,000 and i have a couple of questions
firstly is the 107,000 anything to worry about as it has full service  historyand how many miles would a 2.2 do
and secondly is there anything i should be looking for
thanks in advance :y

The mileage isn't a problem but it depends how it has been driven and maintained (i.e. motorway miles / short trips only, regular cleaning of breathers etc..) If you state the price this will help others gauge whether it is value for money.

you could do a hpi check.

From the info. you've given it is likely to need a service - 11,000 miles since last one
When were the belt/tensioner/water pump last changed and a simple thing like condition of tyres - if these need to be done then the cost of your car goes to 2k in the blink of an eye, which for me would make it a complete non starter.
I would keep an eye on the sales section here and compare what you can get for your money.
