Compressor/air pump noise from n/s/f of engine
« on: 31 August 2010, 09:16:49 »

This has only just started today, a vacuum cleaner type noise from the engine bay (not the self leveling pump noise)only goes on for about 3 mins then stops. Does this every time you start engine. Quite loud noise, and has never done this before.

Can anybody tell me what it is, and how to make it stop and do what it used to??

TIA.

Mike.

That'll be the SAI pump (secondary air input), can be unplugged as it's not really needed. Plug is on the NS, under the front bumper forward of the wheel. :y

CHEERS WELLUNG.....!!

But...............  why should it suddenly start to work for no real reason, and if it is fitted, it obviously has a purpose. If I do unplug it, what will stop working?? :-?
