Aerial p/n 90493820
« on: 09 January 2008, 17:50:29 »

Hi, can anyone tell me if this is the right p/n for the roof aerial for an Omega Elite 1999 with the CCR700 radio/phone please, it should be just the rubber mast bit that unscrews.
TIA.

The part number suggests it is the whole assembly, not just the rod

Do you have an estate then??

As far as i know the radio aerial is built into the rear heater element for saloons.......the small stubby aeiral on the roof is for carphone aerial.

On the estates the longer aerial is for both radio and carphone.

If you need just the rod for an estate for radio...........take a visit to poundland  :y

For a whole pound you can buy a external aerial with adaptors (for different size screw threads) and the one i bought works a treat  :y

Mine is a saloon and has a stubby aerial on the roof which is for the phone/radio but is very stubby as part of it has broken off :(
So i was wondering if this is the right one.
Are you saying that this p/n is only for a estate then???

The stubby aerial on the roof is for carphone only on saloon.
This will not effect radio reception.

If you look closely at your rear demister, you should see 2 vertical lines, one either side.........this is the aerial for radios on the saloon.

If you are getting bad reception.......i believe the saloons have an aerial amplifier.......you should check connections to this in the first place  :y

BTW the part number you quoted is for (as far as i can tell) the complete aerial assemble for the carphone aerial.......which isnt what your after i dont think.

So nothing wrong with radio reception then?
I guess you dont use the carphone aerial either.......so you just want a replacement for cosmetic purposes?
