Bolt Size or P/No
« on: 10 September 2010, 13:47:16 »

The joining flange from the cat pipe to center pipe is joined by 2 studs with nuts.

Are these studs the same size as manifold studs ?

Hi,
The studs and nuts for the exhaust pipe flanges are 8mm. Don't know about what manifold nut size is.

When I fitted new Xhaust cat back to mine, 2 of the studs broke.
I drilled out all the holes to 8mm and used 8mm x 50mm stainless set bolts and nuts.

Existing studs are HT steel not easy to drill. Start with small drill size and then increase in stages I found made it easier.

Centre section to cat uses M8 bolts of the stainless variety (although you will probably find some exhaust muppet has fitted zinc pass ones which will ahev rusted in solid!)
