SAI and EGR removal
« on: 18 September 2010, 17:02:44 »

hi...

i'm thinking about removing the whole SAI system, because is totally useless, as i have no CATs.
i would also like to remove the ERG.
the main reason for this is that i want to get all the unnecessary stuff out, so the engine access would improve.

a) SAI system - can it be completely removed? i would block off the VAC pipe (at the T piece, near the brake servo). will this make any problems in VAC system? also, will the unplugging the connector on the SAI soleniod make any ecu problems?

b) can i remove the ERG valve? i would put the valve it self somewhere on the side, leaving it connected to the loom. but i would remove all the pipes that go over the camcover. will this be good, or it will bring the EML light on? the valve would be blocked off from both sides, and also i would block off the hole on the intake plenum.

you need both solenoids to keep the ecu happy, but both systems are removable apart from that  :y
