Diesel engine query
« on: 06 October 2010, 19:17:24 »

Hi All, have a 1996 (N) reg 2.5TD. Am looking at a code reader on fleabay, (item no xxxxxxxxxxx) which is supposed to work with my car.
Having asked the seller if it will work with my specific vehicle, he has stated that it will work with these engines..
X20XEV
X25DT.
Now I no my engine ain't X20XEV, but is it X25DT or the U25UTD??

Any help appreciated, before I decide whether to buy or not..

Cheers Guys.. :y

hmmm, hard one, suspect u25dt

u25dt - no maf, metal oil filter cap
x25dt - maf, plastic oil filter cap

Doubt the code reader will work on either, but a paperclip might :y

Just been out and poked me nose under the bonnet...
No MAF, and a metal oil filter cap,  So it's a U25TD.

Cheers Guys. :y
