Just recently bought an Omega Elite saloon and not knowing what everything was for I tried out most of the buttons.  When it was sunny the other day I tried the sun blind in the rear window and it worked fine, today I tried it and it wouldn't come up.  There is the noise of the motor but nothing happens and I cannot find in the manual anything about it.  Someone suggested it may only operate if it is sunny and that it might be sensor controlled?  Any help would be appreciated.

Nope, its not so clever.

With an assistant, 'help' it up while someone presses button.  Once up, lube runners with a silicone type spray (that used for nylon curtain rails etc). DO NOT USE OIL/GREASE!!!

unfortunately this is a common issue - mine works some days and others not - TB gives good advice as always - sometimes just holding the switch in a push position overcomes the prblem but not ideal

Reyt that sounds more like it.  I didn't quite see it being that technical, lol.  I will try the silicon spray and let you know how it goes.

Does it work with the engine running and revving to about 3k rpm?

Mine was working and then stopped, when I pressed the switch I could hear a click as if the motor had tried to operate the mechanism. Eventually had to remove the rear shelf and strip the blind mechanism, inside the spindle of one of the cogs had come out of its locating bush, popped it back in reassembled and it is fine. I am sure there was a guide on removing the rear shelf which was a great help.  :y

 :P That explains why my car hasn`t got a sun-blind; I live in North Wales! ;D
