Shame more people haven't been able to give you any infor about Aircon regassing etc. However, Im just as bad, I havent anything to add to the discussion, Im afraid!

Glad it all looks like its sorted, and I know what you mean about taking your pride and joy to a garage, I try and do everything myself- at least if there's a balls-up, its MY fault, I can handle that. 70 poonds sounds very reasonable for the job, too

All I need to do now is source the filler valves - anyone know how I can best go about this?
To be honest the only response I have had from VX and 'air con specialists' when discussing the leaking valve is to give me a quote to replace the pipe, not one of them has suggested that there could be a cheaper and easier fix apart from you guys. This is why the OOF is so fantastic 
All I need to do now is convince SWMBO of this and that I am not a sado in need of serious psychological help!

The numbers posted above look suspiciously like Vx part numbers Have you tried dropping andyc a PM with those numbers to see if he can locate them on the Vx parts system and give you a price?
