oil leak of 5liters!
« on: 22 November 2010, 18:34:54 »

you read it correctly!i had to take the car to vx today for them to do the crank sensor on warrenty,i knew that i had an oil leak,i thought it was from the oil pressure sensor,so repaired replaced the o ring and no oil leak!hurrah!but now i think i have an oil leak from the oil level sensor the whole of the top of the sump is covered in oil no visable signs of leaks above of sump, what needs replacing to stop this leak as today it has leaked all the oil from engine, and i mean all!only leaks when driving.
all i need to know is,
if i take sump off do i need to replace gaskets and sump bolts?
is it just 2 O rings on the level sensor as thats what vx have given me!
how easy is it to do?
thanks guys! :y

As you say, the level sensor plug is at the back on top of the lower sump. Even if you left this completely out, you'd still have the oil in the lower sump pan, so I'm not sure how you managed to loose all you oil via the level sensor seal.

The lower sump is glued on with grey sealant and you can re-use all the bolts.  :y
