Hello
I read from owners manual that even if the engine is stopped the heater could be used. The manual just advice to press the "Auto" button and then the water should be circulated by electric motor and fan should start. When I do this the only thing which happens is that the heater lights temperature adjutments etc. start to operate and fan blows for a couple of seconds and the stops. I found under bonnet two electric water pumps. One is located just below the battery and another behind the air filter. None of them is operating. I quess that the pump behind the filter is the one which is perhaps broken. Do anyone have exoerience about this and what purpose has the other pump below the battery ?

It circulates hot coolant around your engine when you switch off above certain engine temps (no idea of temps :-/) to prevent localised hot spots.

OK, thanks Andy B. I check that pump next summer when it is warm again. Now we have -12 degrees celcius. I remember that when I last summer stopped the engine the fans in the front remained on for one minute or more. Perhaps that pump below battery was operating at the same time.

Brrr! I know it's not actually that cold here at the moment, but having been outside working on my Astra it's feels as though it should be.

That's right, that's when they should have been running.
