Lambda sensors
« on: 21 December 2010, 20:43:07 »

Yesterday eml light came on/stayed on for some time /went off and then returned on my drive home in the snow.

Did a paperclip test and it flashed up "89"indicating error on n/s sensor.

Drove car today over 150 miles and no sign of light and car runs fine...code is still stored .

Question is could the cold and possibly snow from the road have caused the sensor to play-up as at times I was driving through snow definitly in contact with the underside of the exhaust, but today no such problems.

I would leave it for a while. The code may clear after 25 clean starts assuming the sensor was just playing up because of the snow.
Some codes do need a code reader to clear them not sure if 89 is one of them.
