bolts on top, and cover will just come off (after you removed the coil pack) Is the cam cover leaking?

Check the maintenance guide section for details on cleaning breathers and throttle body, blockage point on 2.2 is small pipe from drivers side of cover to the throttle body. Don't bother cleaning it if its blocked, they are about 80p from Vauxhall!

I have read on here about someone disassembling the two parts that make up the cover, but I think it takes some minor destruction to do so.  Probably not worth the risk.

I beg to differ.

Have a look at your picture:

If you look closely, you'll see that from the block breather entry point, round to the two breather outlets in the opposite corner, there's like a 'false ceiling'/'inner cover' bit (semi-circle ending to it).  I'd imagine this is to keep the worst of the condensed mayo/water away from your cams, whose lubrication is rather critical.
I'm sure that someone on here posted a piccy of the two bits separated. Maybe a couple of years ago or more.

I offer you the challenge of finding said picture(s) Tunnie. :)

The cover is made of 2 or 3 components glued? together. when I did mine a destroyed the inner part to see how bad it was, then had to buy a second hand one and clean it as best I could before refittting.
